Gentle Ginger

July 30, 2008

I know, another Ginger post!  I was inspired to take this photo when I say some my brother took of Brad.  Be warned Brad is an outside cat and that mouse is not a stuffed green one from Target.

Chez Giraud

July 28, 2008

In the spirit of all the food/cooking blogs out there in the WWW I’m posting my secret to one of my kids’ favorite lunch.

 lunch

Don’t let the picture fool you.  No matter how fancy and complicated this looks it is possible for an amateur like yourself to make this meal.

Grilled cheese sandwich and cup ‘o noodles with grapette soda.

First put some water to boil, then pour it into the dehydrated noodle and veggie cup and let it sit while you fix the grilled cheese sandwich.

I used honey wheat bread with one slice of cheese.  I grilled it in my 10 yr. old George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine.  I then used my pretty pink knife to cut it into diagonal quarter slices.

Presentation is very important when it comes to my children.  I’m ashamed to say I have raised them to only eat fancy, expensive meals.  I guess I made my bed, so I might as well lie in it.

For the drink, I choose the Wal-Mart generic grape soda with three cubes of ice and the classic white bendy straw with the red and blue stripes.

As for the Spongebob Squarepants mat, I’m afraid those were limited edition and are no longer available.  If you must, you can buy a very good look-a-like at either Kohl’s or Wal-Mart.

The plate is even harder to find, the finest of China is not available to just anyone.  I do believe those styrofoam plates out there look and feel very similar.

ENJOY!

Dropping off Grandma Tina back at Lubbock.  Here’s the kiddos eating some ice cream at Tanty Marie’s and Grandma Tina’s house.

Saying bye

July 25, 2008

They left!  You would think someone died!  All the crying and sad faces broke my heart.  Steven and Cristina went home early.  They caught a ride with an aunt and uncle back to the valley.

Here’s a video my kids recorded for them when they got home from vacation bible school to an empty house.

Bowling Diva

July 24, 2008

We went bowling again!

This time I was the only adult.  Will was at work and Tina decided to stay home and rest.  We had another good time.  Here’s Cristina.  Can you tell how much effort she puts into it?

Tortillas

July 23, 2008

Making tortillas

Cristina said she knew how to make tortillas and could teach Lily.  We took her up on her offer.  She’s a great teacher and very patient.  Lily had a blast!  The tortillas were delicious!

I’ve been neglecting this blog…

Here’s what we did tonight.  We went bowling.  All eight of us!  It was the first time for the boys, they cracked me up!  We all had a great time!

Haunted yard?

July 13, 2008

Mom gave Will this outdoor fire pit thing.  I wish I had a photo of how crazy we looked driving home with it strapped on top of the van!

Steven and Cristina are visiting for a few weeks.  Trying to find interesting things for teenagers is hard when your oldest is only 8 years old.  I think everyone had a great time.  I pulled out the camera to take some cool, fire photos.

And then something that I thought was pretty cool happened…

Steven looks like a ghost!

So, we tried recreating and got this

I’m pretty sure this is the first time a ghost wearing crocs has been spotted!

I know, I’m easily entertained.  I don’t care, I still think it’s cool!
